I'm new to Ethereum or Filecoin. Can I participate?
Absolutely! Our events are open to both beginners and veterans of the web3 world.ew question go to app settings and press "Manage Questions" button.
How many people can be on a team?
You can form teams of up to 5 people. There are no restrictions for team members, so you can team up with hackers of any country or experience level!
What is the Minimum viable submission submission required for the mars hackathon?
The name and summary of the project
Names/pseudonyms of team members and contact info (e.g., GitHub handle, email address, or other)
How the project uses to IPFS and/or Filecoin and/or decentralized storage services that build on top of either with example links to where in code those technologies are used.
Provide comprehensive README, incl. a clear description of the work and mention of how our tech is used in the Technologies Used section of README.
Include a link to the working demo or provide a testing guide
2-3 minute video that presents the idea, including a brief demo that demonstrates the use of IPFS and/or Filecoin or anything that builds on top of them
If applicable, select the appropriate track when submitting the project.
Submitting the same projects across multiple hackathons will lead disqualification
Only projects or features (preferably in separate branch) built specifically for the respective hackathon will be considered for prizes
Broken links may disqualify the project from the judging process.
Using an IPFS HTTP gateway doesn’t count as building on top of IPFS. Exclusively basing your submission on that does not make you eligible for rewards
Can we apply for multiple products/projects?
Yes, the same team can apply for multiple products/projects as long as they fulfill the mandatory criterias, the submission stays valid. Please create a new submission to apply again.
Can an individual apply for the Mars Hackathon?
Yes, an individual or a group of individuals or a startup with founders/team can apply for the hackathon.
Who owns the IP to my project?
The IP remains solely with the maker.
Will Filecoin/IPFS fund my project after selection?
What is the judging criteria for the mars hackathon?
Our judges grade submissions across five equally-weighted categories: 1) Design, 2) Novelty/Originality, 3) Technical Accomplishment, 4) Potential Impact, 5) Creativity/Fun
How will I receive the prize money if I win?
The prizes will be distributed in Filecoin (FIL) and/or Matic tokens.
